Yes, I wonder of the sort of layering is because of this ‘heat dome’ that they’re talking about in the media?
But the drone shot perspective also shows, in the left foreground of the first photo, what great use the developers made of the old PortaKabin site - and one wonders how long it’s going to be before the motors wokshop opposite has a large block of flats, hopefully with commercial use to compliment the new vibe in that end of Perry Vale, at ground floor? Or it has occurred to me that that building’s architectural merit (I’ve always loved it!) might have got it some sort of protection?
EDIT - I forgot to mention that I’m curious to know how the new development by the railway bridge has affected the residents at the top end of Stanstead Road? I know that it would’ve had to comply with planning for light impact assessments etc, but I wonder what the reality feels like?

Yup from that level you can definitely see an upper layer thag holds the heat and humidity down. High pressure almost pushing it back down to the ground. Another shot shows it a bit better.
As for the building, that whole development round to the front by the cab office is a weird one. The main building itself is eye catching and may have some sort of protection as you say, but like the old bingo hall, it’s somewhere that can never reach it’s full potential. Seems like a waste, but guess you can’t just erase things like that.
