A NewsShopper piece on the imminent opening.
It seems a little confused as to the location - is it Bell Green or is it Sydenham?

That whole area is confusing. My grandparents used to live right down the bottom of Perry Hill which has a SE6 postcode and considered themselves to live in Bell Green, but then the garden is on Lescombe Road where my Dad would park the car which is SE23!
You also have Lower Sydenham and Bellingham close by.
In my mind Bell Green, Lower Sydenham, Sydenham (high street) and Upper Sydenham are all sub-divisions of ‘Sydenham’.
The big stores down at Bell Green seem to use a combination. Sainsbury’s is ‘Sydenham Superstore’. Next is ‘Sydenham - Bell Green’. B&Q is ‘Sydenham’. Aldi is ‘Bell Green Retail Park’. But put any of them in a search engine with ‘Bell Green’ and they all appear as the first result, so the internet knows they’re all in Bell Green!
It makes sense to use both: ‘Sydenham’ is more widely known and identifies the area and ‘Bell Green’ narrows it down to a specific part.
Reports from the now-open M&S from early visitors say the place is very large and very well appointed.
Compare and contrast: the reaction to M&S Food opening in Bell Green vs. the possibility of the Dartmouth Arms pub being turned into a convenience store.
I’ve seen pics on Nextdoor. They had Colin the Caterpillar outside and Percy Pig indoors.
It also looks really spacious inside as well. There’s also a large frozen section.
Popped in for a little looksie. Rather busy in there. Quite a lot larger than I was expecting to be honest.
Bit of a surprise outcome on the space-use front - the M&S floorspace is surprisingly large - it is Currys who are using the mezzanine floor.
