Pedestrian Crossing @ FH Station

It’s another symptom of neglect. Perhaps the station should be renamed ‘A205 Junction’.

It also means that stats in the area are likely to be unreliable e.g. if you want to know how many accidents occurred in a particular spot.

I think the issue is more from the download datasets and how they match with the visuals of the map. To get accurate details for each one I would recommend using the link on a desktop and clicking on and expanding each incident. The text of the posted dataset relates more to the wider scale map pictured, not the cropped one, hence Stansted getting mentioned.

The map also shows a shocking number of cycle vs cars at the Waldram Crescent /Devonshire junction. Another thing the no right turns would help address.

The one takeaway from it all is you can change the layouts to your hearts content, but pedestrians and cyclists will still run the gauntlet, and motorists will still break the rules and occasionally just get it wrong.

Eliminate will never be a thing, Vision Zero is a great dream but Vision Almost None is more realistic.

I reported this on Fix May Street but nothing was done. If you stand in the middle refuge waiting to cross towards the Post Office, you cannot see the Green light swing you can cross. The louvres are badly positioned. Most of the time you can only see that the red light is out (or out of order).
