Roadworks on Honor Oak Park

It looks like the Thames Water roadworks on Honor Oak Park will run until June.

It feels like just a few years ago that they dug up the road.

I don’t remember when the last one was, but it certainly feels like it has been pretty constant - though to be fair, our systems around here are crumbling so it is good to have proper replacements instead of patch-up jobs that only last a year or so

According to the One.Network, the approval is until 23rd July

We received a letter with this timescale, which may be useful. I also understand that as soon as TW has finished, Lewisham Highways will be resurfacing the road and filling in the potholes.

Hopefully, when you say that they are to sort out the potholes, that they will fill them all properly and roll them out flat - not like the digusting unkempt rural country lane type state that they have left the last few years ……..

I believe it will be a complete resurfacing of the road, not just the usual bucket of tarmac chucked into a pothole! Here’s an extract from a letter from our MP Ellie Reeves about it.

Thank you for that PennieH ….. Let’s keep up the faith !!! ……. Mark T.

The long term issue has been subsidence - quite a serious problem on this part of the ridge. It has been made worse by constant water main fractures in the ancient iron pipes. These are being completely replaced. Hopefully the radical engineering work now in progress will solve the problem permanently.
