Just popped into the most amazing artist studio here in Forest Hill that I was completely unaware of.
She’s opened her amazing studio in a Victorian coach house on The Hermitage (just off Westwood Park). Lovely sculptures and ceramics.
I believe there are others locally too.

Sadly we did’nt make the Sydenham one because we were’nt aware of it (need more brochures and local advertising perhaps?) though it appears from your post its on next week so hopefully I’ll find a guide and we’ll make it there then

I’m popping in today to The Hermitage to ask Pat if she knows about the Powys/Mathers family who lived in Glenalmond at The Hermitage.
His son was born in Forest Hill and invented the cryptic crossword, sometime after regular crosswords were invented.
A collegue at Albion Millennium Green has suggested that it could be named after The Hermitage in Perthshire as the father (David) of Edward Peter Mathers was born in Caputh, just 20 miles from The Hermitage, and 5 miles from Glenlamond.
As my knowledge of Scotland is poor, forgive me as I haven’t checked this all out just yet, but I will of course.
If anything definite comes through I will do an update in the history category.
