no idea. Should Barratts only comply with the ban if it is enforced?
Edit. Have just found that Thames Water say they don’t need reports - they can monitor thru metering etc. a pretty unlikely story.
Meanwhile some people at my allotments seem to be running scared of being ‘reported’ for watering their veg!
I hope they do, they must have spent a fortune on those plants. And some were recently replaced after the barricades were removed after the roadworks.
Meanwhile the community garden on the corner is soldiering on. They are very grateful for donations of water put in the water butts.

Has anyone ever been sanctioned for using a hose during a hosepipe ban?
I’m afraid I haven’t developed any expertise in this area, even though I am passionate about raising awareness of water as a scarce resource.
I know this is mixing topics but I was totally stunned to realise one day that the reason the Croydon Canal failed so miserably was it relied totally on rainwater collected at two principle reservoirs. Every time the locks opened the water moved downhill and the reservoirs were never full enough to keep the canal topped up all the time. The situation was so bad that as a consequence the canal was not operational for business every day, they had closed days and working days.
I would like to think we could work this vital historical detail into some interpretation material sometime because it speaks to us in our current situation.
