Calling all micro-orchards in South East London

We probably don’t think of our garden or park fruit trees as “micro orchards”, but if you grow apples, pears, plums, etc. then do you use them all yourself? If not, what about joining with others to harvest them and do something interesting with them? Taken together, there’s a lot of fruit that may be going to waste unnecessarily.

A friend shared this link with me which I think is very exciting:

It seems a shame that an area like ours (Perry Vale is probably named after the fact that pears were grown and both perry and cider was produced in the area) is not taking part.

Sadly the only fruit tree in my own garden is a plum of some variety, but I think the tree is suffering from plum pocket disease and the fruit doesn’t mature, but I trust there are others with better luck

Most of the houses in my street have at least one fruit tree. There is a small community orchard in Mayow Park.
