The word is spreading. We’ve been testing this site for a couple of weeks, but this weekend we will be sharing the news about this community with all members of the Forest Hill Society in the next newsletter. Please share the news to your friends and neighbours.
I do hope we see lots of you signing up (to save your preferred username, if nothing else), and maybe sharing your thoughts. We want this to be an open, friendly and positive site, away from the negativity we see so much of on social media.
What do you think of the site? What about the categories of content - are they clear, and are we missing anything?
Feel free to start new conversations, or join the existing ones. There’s already quite a lot here - from local history, to events and some local news. I’m very keen to hear from as many of you as possible.
Keep an eye out for the dates of in-person gatherings as well as I hope we can start some face to face events as well as a result of these conversations.
We had a surge in sign ups in the last 24hrs resulting in about 15 new members.
So as we want to become better aware of the social media landscape, can I ask you all whether this was prompted by a particular post on another social media, like facebook for example?
Can Rob see from the logs the referrer traffic which could see inbound links to rocks (BTW I call this site rocks for short) ??
This is particularly important for us at Albion Millennium Green as we are also eager to keep our understanding of the current social media landscape as up to date as we can.
We have just been joined by LOADS of people from a post shared in FAB Forest Hill on Facebook. It shows the impact of sharing the link with like-minded folks who care about the area - or at least their own bits of it.
We’re so happy to see so many new faces. Looking forward to making Forest Hill, Honor Oak Park, Kirkdale and Perry Vale rock in a FAB way together
