Does anyone else buy fish from Grant, who sells fish from Hastings market at the top of the station underpass from his van every Thursday from around 6 am? He also has a mailing list for Forest Hill, and sends it out Wednesdays. And if there’s something in particular you want will take orders in advance - subject to what’s available that week of course. Here’s his list for tomorrow so you can see what he does.

this looks great. Did I not hear that he was not coming to our area any more because of issues with the parking? I can’t say that the top of the underpass is ideal to be honest but I admit I’ve never bought anything from him so don’t know the quality
He’s been coming and parking here for about 25 yrs and I guess he will stop one day - he does say there is great concern about fish stocks off Hastings. Didn’t know there was any problem our end though.

The quality of the seabass, salmon and tuna is always excellent. The smoked fish is great. And most of the non-smoked fish is as fresh as you can get without your own boat and line.
The mackerel can be a little smaller than you get in the supermarket but they taste great.

I didn’t know he still came, but I don’t commute any more. What time is he there until usually?
I think he is there until around 9am but I’m not certain if he stays longer.
