Dear Neighbours,
From next week, after 26 years on Goose Green, East Dulwich, we will be in our new home- same therapists, new home-Peckham Levels where we have a calm corner in a vibrant and unique building. Many of our patients and clients live in neighbouring communities and hopefully for most, Rye Lane is just a hop, skip and a jump (most likely onto a 197 or 37 Bus or a train to Peckham Rye). Our contact details remain the same so do not hesitate to contact us individually or via the clinic website. There are so many different services you can access during your visit to us at Peckham Levels, including health and well-being, arts and crafts, shops, social enterprises, performance, exhibitions as well as a fabulous café.
I think 57-59, East Dulwich Road will always be in the hearts of those who have visited and worked there and we are so very sad to leave it but of course very excited to continue our work at Peckham Levels.
This week concludes perhaps 140 years or more of 57-59, East Dulwich Road being a centre of health in various forms and this week we have reflected on the struggles and adaptations of all the local people who must have come through the doors in that time, and the hard work of the Nurses, Doctors and Therapists who treated them. Previously a GP practice, the clinic was turned into an Osteopathic practice and a centre for holistic health by Ravi Parbhoo thus continuing many years of health provision to the community. Lisa Yonetani developed and expanded the practice creating a hive of activity and a haven of calm in which many people have found relief, nurture and encouragement. We can’t wait to continue providing this at our new home in Peckham Levels.
