Krust has been open a little while but I finally paid a visit this week. It was lovely to meet the owners who arrive at 4:30am each day to get going on the baking. Their sausage roll was hands down the best one I’ve ever had. Strongly recommended and as always, use it or lose it!
I do hope they start baking bread soon as sadly we’re not a pastry or cake eating household and judging how quickly the loaves sell out at StDavid and Henwens Butchers there is definitely a market for good fresh baked loaves locally
I actually asked about this. They plan to start bread with something like focaccia. I didn’t get into why that would be the best place to start.
I popped in last Saturday afternoon for the first time, to be met with completely empty counters - I was told that they’ve been selling out of everything by 11am each day. All feedback I’ve seen so far has been extremely positive, so I plan to head down there again tomorrow, but much earlier this time!
I just popped in for the first time in a couple of weeks and they’ve now started doing sourdough loaves.
Thank you so much for letting me know.
When I’ve passed recently they’ve been closed (around 4pm Thursday and on a Monday..) so I’ve not gone in to check if their offering has expanded.
I’m looking forward to getting my timings right and trying their Sourdough!
These are their opening hours according to Google:
BUT they do sell out of baked goods way before closing time (I have been down there at 11am before to find they’ve sold out of everything).
I managed to get there yesterday early enough to snag a sourdough loaf. It’s very good; I wish them every success.
Easily the best pastries in the area! Couple that with a coffee from Galão, which is IMV the best coffee in the area, and probably one of the best I can think of in London.
agree re: Galão coffee..Its the best I’ve had from anywhere in years…And being a coffee lover I always try the trendy smaller places around East, West and Central London and none come close.
As I’m not a Pastry eater I’ve not visited Krust however now I know they are doing bread I need to make sure I get there to try a loaf.
