London marathon route advice

Hello! My stepmum is running the London marathon Sunday, and we will be a group of 8 supporting. This is our plan below. Please let me know if you have any advice or if this looks like a good plan! Thank you.

08:00 - group meet at Greenwich Station

08:00 - 08:25 - walk to Blackheath Avenue/ Charlton Way

08:41 - runner starts at RED

10:07 - runner wave start time (RED Start Line on Charlton Way)

11:00 - group walk to cheer @ 11:00 between mile 7 & 8 (Creek Road)

Group walk (15 mins) to Deptford Bridge Station :right_arrow: Shadwell (12 stops)

12:00 - Mile 13/14 Shadwell/ The Highway (pedestrian underpass near Glamis Road Junction)

13:15 - Mile 22 Shadwell/ The Highway (pedestrian underpass near Glamis Road Junction)

Shadwell :right_arrow: Canada Water :right_arrow: Westminster and 10 mins walk to Horse Guards Parade to meet runner at finish line / chosen letter point

Aim Finish Line Time :cocktail_glass:
13:55 - Mile 26.2

There should be some buses from Deptford Bridge to New Cross or New Cross Gate where you can get the Windrush line direct to Shadwell. But if you like the scenic route if it’s a nice day on Sunday, stick with the DLR.

You could also consider walking to Tower Hill/Aldgate East for the District Line to Westminster.

We need to know - how was it? What time did she run it in (and was she happy with it)? I assume she wasn’t threatening Sawe for the world record time

So kind, for your message Rob! She did amazing. 4:02 for her first marathon. What an incredible day out. :sun_with_face: did you watch?

Wow, that’s a great time! Many congratulations to her.

No, I’m afraid I didn’t watch it this year, but have done in the past - and cheered on my wife who ran it twice (some years ago now). Lots of fun.

I was out for a bit around the station on Sunday, and there were quite a few families who were obviously heading into town to support someone or just soak up the atmosphere
