I had been wondering what would replace the old Alkemi store, opposite the demolished Co-Op on the south circular, and now we know - it’s a photo studio for pets!

I actually feared the worst when the curtains were continuously closed, and they replaced the front door (I think) to make it appear a lot more residential, but good to have another local business opening up. I do hope they’ve done their market research though

There are a great many dog owners in the area..I assume thats the main target audience.
I cant imagine people taking their Budgies, Rabbits and Cats in to have their photo done but maybe I’m wrong?

I reckon with the right marketing there’s scope for a successful business there. And I take my hat off to anyone who’s willing to sign a lease on a place and set something up in the current economic climate.

100yds up the road, 40 years ago, a shop selling started selling snow skis… REALLY!?!
Yes, Finches set-up a in a very specialist and niche field, marketed it properly and had people coming to them from all over the place.
