Riddle me this… If a trail is 1km long, but a dead end at the end of 1km, is the end of the trail not actually back at the start, aka 2km (round trip as the sign suggests)?
What is the point of knowing the distance to a dead end when the only exit is back at the start?

There’s an entrance at both ends - well one end and the other about a quarter of the way back from the far end.
There is one at the main road, one at the cafe, but nothing at the far end. That was my point. It’s 1km to the end, but you can’t go out there. So have to walk back to the sign to get back out.
The full trail is 1km, so let’s say 700m from the cafe to the end, but 1.4km minimum to actually be able to get back out.
