I’ve seen news to say that the reopening of the Waterlink Way is being postponed (for an unknown length of time) because the works have become more complex than planned.
I gather there are extra water mains to deal with so Lewisham need to get approval from Thames Water before they can install the new bridge.
Bit of a shame for anyone who likes walking, running or cycling along there.
Does anyone else have any news about this?
It’s often a surprise to people when they discover that Thames Water does not have a complete map of the water mains in London.

Which of the bridges is this?
Does anyone know if it’s just the bridge that’s delayed or is the path along the river still shut too?
Yes, the path along the river approaching either side is closed too. The path south of the bridge is nominally closed all the way from the footbridge over the Hayes line, but in reality joggers, dog walkers and pram pushers still go past the closed signs towards the bit that is physically closed off nearer the bridge works. And when they return this causes confusion to some people who will ask if the path is reopened yet.
