Does anyone know anything at all about this wonderful official sign (on a lamp post) outside Honor Oak station by the road bridge? It’s been there for several years now, but I can’t find out anything about how it was commissioned or who designed it.
Personally I love it. It is a unique design.
It’s been there since at least 2008, as shown in this streetview from that time.
I’ve walked past that spot countless times, and never noticed it, but the stylised (oak?) motif is quite charming.

The design strikes me as having an Elizibethan Tudor influence.
