The Newsshopper has reported that the landlords of the Honor Oak pub are advertising for a new operator (manager? I don’t speak pub language) and that the pub will be relaunched under the Fireside brand.
Since I’ve been here, this pub has changed about 4 or 5 times. It is in a great location and lots of residents around, I wonder why this keeps happening?
I remember the great community feeling the first landlords who changed it from The St Germains into the Honor Oak managed, but when they moved on, it was never quite the same (to me)
I know my wife has usually found it quite loud, and it was a shame when they lost the wider food range.
Yes, we live right nearby but rarely go, as the acoustics inside make conversation difficult for anyone with even mild hearing impairment! And the food is a bit meh. Enjoyed the quiz night a couple of times, though. And the outdoor space is ok.
We moved our Book Club meetings from The Honor Oak to the Foresters Arms - partly because it was too noisy in the former. We have no problems in the Foresters - and the beers are great!
