May 2026 events listings

It has been suggested that it would be nice to have a listing of local(ish) events happening in the area, here on the site. So I hope this post acts as a signpost for interesting events for members.

Note, this is a ‘wiki’ which means that site users should be able to edit it and add any details.

For help on how to edit this post, read this: How to update the monthly events listings

My attempt to edit the table failed :man_shrugging:

I’ll write a post on how to edit - it isn’t hard, but not completely obvious either

I also think it makes sense to actually try to keep posters separate from the listings anyway so the list can be easier to read

From the Sydenham Society newsletter - and for the local music performance enthusiasts

Ok, I’m trying a listing out… ‘May on the Hill’, events at the wonderful Hill Station cafe at the top of Kitto Road SE4 5TY, catch Selector Becca playing Rocksteady, Roots Reggae and Ska on Friday 22nd, 8pm-10.30pm. Lots of other great events on other weeks, too! FREE and Free drinks for the first 8 people who ask me!

Hi Rob - I thought I had followed your instructions, but I didn’t find the table, sorry!

Open this Sunday 24 May as part of NGS, come and visit a beautiful garden set in a mid-century terrace in Forest Hill, with a neighbour’s also open as part of entry.

https://ngs.org.uk/gardens/75-bampton-road-se2/

Enjoy some tea and cake, plants will be on sale too. And help raise money for the brilliant charities the NGS supports. Pre booking via link.

Featured in RHS magazine and House Beautiful.
