I know it’s only small, but Beetroot & Beans offers a range of fruit & veg and they help customers with non-regular stock items from their daily suppliers.
I used to adore Aga’s deli, I was utterly gutted when she closed because I loved her soups and salads, incredible value and always tasty..
That said I’m looking forward to once again having her Sour Cucumber or Borsht soup from her new venture..
Re: the Buisness taking over her old shop we really need a good deli as well as a bakery, I’d love to see somewhere that offers good healthy takeaway salads
I have had a brief exchange with the owners via Instagram, and so don’t want to give too much away and let them do their reveal, but it all sounds very exciting. Looks like opening should be mid May, so not long now to find out more.
I’ve heard back just to say that the opening is pushed back a little from the original plan, possibly to the last week of May, but still hoping to see it open very soon.
I can’t remember the name of that bakers shop but it was owned/run by Ted ? and his son Eamonn; the bread and cakes were produced in the bakery at the back of the shop, Eamonn lived in the flat above and Ted had moved out to a big house at Grove Park, so it was clearly profitable.
They were both Saturday lunchtime regulars in the now defunct Forest Hill Hotel and would usually turn up with a tray of rolls for fellow regulars.
