New bakery / pastry shop on the way?

No one has mentioned The Teapot or Canvas & Cream, they do food. The chef in the latter used to work in Good Food in Sangley Road Catford.

I quite like The Teapot but Canvas and Cream I find (despite the lovely decor) really not great for food and overpriced.

As a result We no longer bother going there..they often look busy so I’m happy for them but having been several times over the years and been underwhelmed by the taste and portions against price would rather go elsewhere.

I still mourn the food (breakfast/brunch) offering at St David before it changed hands, and once they did a pop up in the evening where I had the best Pho i’ve ever had!!

Edited to add: I don’t know how long the chef mentioned has been at Canvas and Cream so can’t comment on his food.

A few years ago, under the original tri-partner ownership, their sour dough roll stuffed with loads of thinly sliced crispy bacon was incredible!

She did a cheese toastie day at her Polish pop-up at 227 Dartmouth Road last month :face_savoring_food: . She’s said that she plans to do another one towards the end of this month, and will post about it on her Instagram (@food_adventures_with_aga).

I miss her breakfasts and amazing salad plates :smiling_face_with_tear:

We have nowhere offering anything as good at such good prices in the neighbourhood.
